Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress – May/June 2012 Offer



The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL is located in close proximity to all of the area attractions; yet once on property, it feels that you are miles away from any major city. The hotel, which sits on 1,500 lush acres, is within 30 minutes of Orlando International Airport and Downtown Orlando and within 15 minutes to all major theme parks.

 The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress has a total of 815 guestrooms and offers a unique hypo-allergenic room product referred to as Respire by Hyatt. The recently renovated meetings space boasts 65,000 sq ft of flexible indoor meeting rooms as well as several options for outdoor space. The indoor meeting space is comprised of a 25,000 sq ft ballroom, a 16,600 square foot exhibit hall and wide open foyers (7,000 sq ft to be exact) that can be used for a reception or meal space. The foyers now offer sheer panels suspended from the ceiling that can be pulled down to partition off the space.  The completed renovations not only bring a more modern feel to the meeting space, but up to date technology such as programmed lighting to save energy.

 The pool area, which is made up of a ½ acre pool, 12 waterfalls and a waterslide is impressive. The hotel is known for their 4 Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf courses, including the 18 Hole New Course, which is reminiscent of the Old Course at St. Andrews. The hotel also offers 12 tennis courts, jogging and bicycling trails, a 21 acre lake with canoeing, kayaking, sailing, hydro bikes and aqua cycles. There are several restaurants and lounges to choose from that range from the casual Palm Café to Hemingway’s Key West inspired cuisine.

 What is not shown on paper is that the hotel offers a quality of service that sets the standard within Hyatt. The food is excellent and well priced, the GM will know your name and how your group is doing, the banquet staff is attentive and friendly, and the overall experience from start to finish is consistent. I have held meetings at this hotel ranging from 300 to 600 attendees and the experience has always been the same. Comments from the meeting participants were complimentary of the food quality, and the excellent service from the bell stand to the front desk.
