First time Switzerland trip: Need itinerary advice/tips

Hello everyone,

We'll be traveling to Switzerland (30's couple) at the end of September. We planned for 4 days in Paris then heading to Switzerland (can't wait!). We will be purchasing the Swiss Pass for transportation as well. From day 1 till day 4 Interlaken will be our base but staying in Luzern on day 5 before our flight the next day.

  1. I’m wondering if the below is doable? Is this too much?
  2. Are there places that we should visit instead or spend more time?
  3. Is it worth taking a day trip to Zermatt (train roundtrip ~6hrs) to see the Matterhorn? I heard visibility isn’t always great. Are there any alternatives for a day trip from Interlaken if conditions are bad?

All advice/tips/suggestions are welcome! Thank you in advance!

Day 1: Train from Paris – Basel – Interlaken (Base), if time permits boat ride to Brienz/Giessbachfall or paragliding

Day 2: Grindelwald, First (Hike Lake Bachalpsee, activities like zipline + mountain cart)

Day 3: Lauterbrunnen (Trummelbachfall, Staubbachfall), Murren, Schilthorn

Day 4: Zermatt, Gornergrat (Matterhorn)

Day 5: Interlaken – Luzern (Paragliding at Interlaken if possible, relax/shop/stay in Luzern)

Day 6: Luzern – Zurich for flight
